The other day I heard a ‘well-regarded’ Motivational Master who has a life lesson that suggests, when things are bad, that you need to remember that ‘things can be worse.’ Aye! What is that about? That’s the wrong take, my friends. Don’t ever think that ‘things can be worse,’ no. Simply count your blessings and celebrate all the you do have. If you want to think about something that could be, think about how things could be better. Things can be much, much better. In fact, things will be getting better very soon.
Things always get better if that is where we focus. We simply need to focus on what is right.
It’s taken you this long to realize that you need God in your life, and it may take just a bit longer to fully comprehend all of the ways God changes your life for the better. Once you figure out that you are an extension of God, and inherent within you is the immeasurable power of God, then you’ll start to direct this power to the benefit of others and yourself. You might get instant over-night results when you do get yourself a God, but more likely the results will creep up on you.
“To Be or not to Be?” That is the question our old pal William Shakespeare asks of us. It’s a damn good question and it seems like there are not enough people who ever really answer it.
Who do you know who really wants to “Be”? Probably not a lot. Most people are not Being. This is because so many of us don’t know what to be because we think we don’t know who we are because we’ve been caught up in illusion of accepting the idea that ‘how it is’ equals ‘how it will be.’ And therefore there in no sense of trying to ‘Be’ anything because an unfulfilled life is what is expected and, sadly, accepted as the norm. And that’s just stupid.
The Golden Rule is the most simple concept of all time: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That seems simple enough, right? It’s the Golden Rule – the number one, first, foremost rule. It’s the biggest and best rule that we’ve got…so why isn’t everyone following it?
“Yeah, sure,” the self-absorbed narcissist will say, “do unto others blah, blah, blah. Who’s got time for such nonsense these days in our hustle-and-bustle world where everything is just zip-zapping by so fast with the robots and computers, and there’s just no time to squeeze in a little common decency. Really, who has the energy to be nice and smile at another living soul? That’s just asking too much.
No one else can do what you do. No one else can fill the role that you were meant to play. This is the reason you are here: to fulfill the role that the world actually needs from you now. Your positive contribution is wanted and needed to make the Universe whole. Without your positive contribution the world isn’t the same.
