Raw Poetry by Rev. Shakes Spear
Holocaust for One
Now the circles run themselves
in automatic panic mode.
A drop of blood in the gears
turns the knob to ‘World Explodes.’
‘Time will tell if it will last’
is what they thought in the past,
but now that that future’s here...
well, if it was good, it disappeared.
Long ago, two steps away
was a time that was a place.
They called it ‘Family,’ ‘Pride,’ and ‘Truth’
but soon enough the Ugly grew.
It brought machines and magick screens
that veiled the right and ate our dreams.
It spit out broken chunks of love
and flipped below to above.
Hourglass sand is falling up.
Holocaust Man has had enough.
He lifts the veil and he finds
nothing but his fractured mind.
