Living Machines

The silence of the heart
As it waits for the beat
Is a lifetime’s length apart
As we pray for it’s repeat.

For fear of death, that last breath
Is what we least desire
And yet we near it forgetting Body to Spirit
Is the same as the Flame to the Fire

Imperfect projections
Of the perfectly Splendid
That dressed up in us and they pretended
To play in this scene of another short dream
Until they wake up and take up
Another Living Machine.
