And That’s the Way It Is (The Filler)
Distraction on display:
Everywhere a screen,
(Everywhere a screen).
Inaction leads the way
Into the dream
(The always distant dream).
Stay six feet away
And watch a spirit fade.
Hide yourself from love
And death will have its way;
(Hide yourself from love
And death becomes your day).
Served up in
Technicolor Giga-Flicker Mode
Governing the Mind
Until it has all control.
Shake your head this way,
Now smirk and say, “You see?
You can always trust the government.
They said so on TV.”
Nevermind, Oh Well, and Whatever
Took a leap and landed with the Children of the War.
They thought they fought for something
But they can’t remember why any more.
And that’s the way it is
and that’s the way it was.
They showed that moon cartoon, man
and everybody got a Buzz.
Somehow it’s remembered red
Yet it was old school black and white
(that blood from Johnny’s head (exploding))...
Is it in God we trust - or Kronkite?
