Raw Poetry by Rev. Shakes Spear
4 1/2 Star Meal
The awful imagery
Tends to bother me
But the atmosphere
Is simply devine.
The best dish is the fish if
You pair it with
A nice red wine
Let me ask you this: If
Jesus was anointed from birth
Why go to church?
Why did he study if he
Had the wisdom of God?
If he knew all things,
Above priests and kings,
What’s left to learn?
To whom could he turn?
Doesn’t that strike you as odd?
God doesn’t wonder
And God doesn’t fret
So why would the one
Of whom He beget?
You’re making too much
Of this, your plate
You haven’t touched it’s
Getting late
You’re not thinking straight.
We’ve all been anointed
Not Jesus alone – Oh, no!
What’s wrong?
I swallowed a bone.
Pour me some wine, I’m going to try
To choke the rest of this down.
Hats off to the Chef!
This meal was delicious,
But might I suggest:
Debone the fishes.
