Raw Poetry by Rev. Shakes Spear
Moonglow
When the Moon comes
Oblivious to Suns
She doesn’t try to shine.
She only knows that She glows
When She’s feeling fine.
Never mind that shine and glow
Bring both light and shadow
Only those that need to grow
Would even think it matters.
So She just do as She do...
Lighting nights and gazing you.

“In “Moonglow,” a poem by Rev. Shakes Spear, the moon’s effortless radiance is celebrated. Without competing with the sun, the moon simply glows when it feels well, unconcerned with the consequential play of light and shadow. The poem suggests that only those with room to grow would concern themselves with the distinction between shining and glowing. Embodying a carefree attitude, the moon continues its natural course, illuminating the night sky and watching over us.
